Taos Mountain Shawl
Inspired by a mountain sunset palette, this triangular-shaped shawl utilizes 2 light, 2 medium and 1 dark tonal-dyed fingering-weight yarns to create a subtly shifting set of colors and patterns over this shawl. Worked from the top/center back neck down and shaped with the use of yarn-overs at the spine and edges of the shawl, the shawl begins with sets of simple stockinette stripes. One half of the bottom border is then worked with a slip-stitch pattern and then the second half of the bottom border is worked with a vertically striped colorwork pattern. The shawl is then edged with an I-cord bind-off.
This pattern is available as an exclusive kit through Mooncat Fibers, designed specifically for their shop for the Taos Sheep and Wool Festival weekend 2017. Contact them for information or to order your kit. (Kit includes all 5 colors with enough yardage to knit the shawl as shown.)
Errata: Row 15 of Border 2 should be worked as all knit stitches (not a P2 as indicated).
