The Tartan Baby Bloomers Knitting Pattern is a lovely model that suits both boys and girls.
A classic and timeless piece that is a must have in your little one’s closet.

These bloomers are knitted in the round from top to bottom. Horizontal colour stripes are worked horizontally while we are working the body of the pattern.
Purl stitches are integrated in the pattern to create vertical ridges. On those vertical ridges, with the help of a crochet hook, we will work applied crochet chains that will create the plaid pattern.
The waistband and leg opening ribs are picked up and worked afterwards. They are folded in and sewn, creating a double ribbing.

PATTERN INFORMATION:

• Available Sizes: 0-1 months, 1-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months, 9-12 months, 12-18 months, 18-24 months.
• Construction: Knitted in the round.
• Experience level: Advanced Beginner / Basic Intermediate
• Yarn: DK weight yarn.
• Tension: 24 stitches x 34 rows = 10cm / 4” in a (K5, P1, K1, P1) stitch pattern in the round, after blocking (or 25 stitches x 34 rows = 10cm / 4” in stockinette stitch), with 3,5mm (US 4) needles. Please complete a tension square.
• Yardage (total): approx. 190-350 meters depending on size and version
• Needles: 3,5mm (US 4) circular needles with 40cm (16”) | 3mm (US 2,5) circular needles with 40cm (16”) | 3mm (US 2,5) double pointed needles or shorties (for the leg opening ribs) | 3,5mm (US 4) double pointed needles for the I-cord (you can also use a crochet hook or cord mill) | 3,5mm (US E/4) crochet hook for vertical stripes
• Knitting techniques: Knitting in the round, vertical colourwork with crochet hook (it has videos explaining how to do it, but you just need to know how to pick up and crochet a simple chain), optional short rows (with video tutorial), I-cord, folded waistband rib and leg opening rib (with video tutorial) -Languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish.
