This is a fun and creative tartan snood to knit, that is fast and surprisingly easy!

I’ve been keen to create tartan in knitting for about 4 years, as I am married to fine Scottish man. Until recently I was stumped on a few aspects. Knitting in the round solved the first problem - and threading stitches for vertical lines fixed the other. Not only do they look great, but they speed up the knit too!

This pattern is suitable for beginners, as it really only involves cast on / off, knit every stitch, changing colours with a small easy amount of colour weaving to finish.

The snood is knit in The Woven Super Soft & Chunky, a thick soft roving with NZ Wool and Alpaca blend. Knitting this fibre is such a delight, and the finished product is thick and luxurious. You can buy the yarn separately here
