The “TASHMOO” mitts - soft, warm, stylish

My friend Jane lives on the island of Martha’s Vineyard and spends a lot of time on the water commuting by ferry to the mainland to visit my brother-in-law Eric. I made her these mitts to keep her hands warm during her commutes. The deep blue colors and all over cable pattern remind me of the gentle waves on Lake Tashmoo near where she lives.

THE BASICS

• Pattern includes instructions for women’s M size with alterations for S and L sizes

• Pattern is written in ENGLISH and uses standard U.S. knitting terms

• Instructions are for knitting in the round on double pointed needles

• Knitting skill level - INTERMEDIATE

• Gauge: 21 stitches = 4 inches (10 cm)

• Set of double-pointed needles U.S. size 6 (4.0 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

• Set of double-pointed needles U.S. size 5 (3.75 mm) or one size smaller than gauge needle

• Stitch markers

• Yarn needle

• Stitch holder

• Cable needle
