Brioche knitting creates a scrumptious, squishy texture for wonderfully warm accessories. This pattern was designed as an introduction to this fun technique. Used only on the cuffs, it’s the perfect way to practice the most basic brioche stitches. Video tutorials are included to demonstrate exactly how to work these stitches, along with tips and tricks for this exciting technique. Knit in bulky weight yarn, these mittens fly off the needles. Finished Mitten Circumference: 6 (7, 7.5, 8)” / 15 (18, 19, 20.5) cm
Total Mitten Length: 8.25 (10.25, 11, 12.5)” / 21 (26, 28, 32) cm (adjustable to fit)
To be worn with 0.5” / 1.5 cm negative ease

YARN
Emma’s Yarn BODACIOUS BULKY (100% Superwash Merino; 106 yards / 100 grams);

MC (coral): 1 skein OR 106 yds / 97 m bulky weight yarn
CC (pink/orange speckled): 18 yds / 17 m bulky weight yarn

NEEDLES
US 8 (5 mm), or as required to meet gauge: DPNs or preferred needles for small circumference knitting

GAUGE
12 sts and 18 rounds = 4” / 10 cm in brioche knitting

16 sts and 22 rounds = 4” /10 cm in stockinette stitch

NOTIONS
2 stitch markers, tapestry needle

SKILL LEVEL
Adventurous beginner; this pattern includes a detailed tutorial video demonstrating all the skills needed to work the brioche stitches. If you know how to knit, purl, slip stitches, and work in the round, you can work this design.
