Just a fun little selection of pre-meal bites to entice and prime the palate before the pasta plates come out. Olives, pickled mushrooms, and caviar on toast will do the trick. Basic, simple technique and easy construction will have you rounding out a core charcuterie board with these fun little salty snack accompaniments. All instructions are for knitting flat with seaming.
NOTIONS:
US 6 / 4mm , US 3 / 3.25mm knitting needles
Sewing Needles (small and large)
MATERIALS:
Stuffing (Shredded Yarn or Fiberfill)
POINTED TOAST + CAVIAR
Scrap amounts Bulky or Aran Toast color, DK or Sport Weight Caviar color, Worsted Wt. White for Cream, Lace Weight/ Embroidery Green Dill
OLIVES
Scrap amounts Olive Color Wrsted/DK/Sport Wts.
MUSHROOMS
Scrap amounts Tan and Brown Wrsted or Sport Wt.
GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important for this project. Just make sure that the fabric of the olives knits up tightly enough to keep stuffing from showing through.
SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, with simple increases, decreases, short rows, and seaming.
