This pattern features a lacework design inspired by the Tatalina River in interior Alaska. The socks are knit toe-up, facilitating two-at-a-time knitting (though the pattern is written such that any method can be used).

The pattern instructions include a guide to help you choose a size based on your foot size. If you knit tightly, you may want to go up a needle size to a 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needle.

I’ve provided links below to video tutorials that may be helpful for techniques. These links are also embedded in the pattern, and there are written instructions also included in the pattern for the “double stitch” in the German short row heel and Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Sewn Bind-off.
