TATJANA SHAWL
This is a pattern for three shawls, all based on the same flower pattern and slip stitch pattern, but in three sizes and for different yarns. Why this pattern is called Tatjana is a little story that I explain in the pattern. But it has to do with my middle name and the name of my godmother.
All patterns are test knitted.
MATERIAL/GAUGE
Tatjana shawl 1: Drops Belle, a blend of cotton, rayon and linen, in three colors. The color around the neck needs one (50 gr/120 meter) ball, the second color two balls and the third color three balls. You could use a 100% cotton yarn to choice with the same meters per gram as a substitution.
You need 4,5 mm/US7 size needles for it, preferably on a circular needle, at least 40” or 100 cm long.
The gauge of the flower pattern in this version: 19 stitches by 26 rows is 10 by 10 cm/ 4 by 4”, after blocking.
The shawl will be around 180 cm wide and 65 cm deep, after blocking. This shawl has a garter border.
Tatjana shawl 2: Holst Garn Coast, a blend of Merino lambswool and cotton, two (50 gram/700 meter) balls in different colors, and Holst Garn Supersoft, 100% wool, one (50 gram/575 meter) ball for the lace border. The first two colors, will use the Coast yarn with a double strand of yarn. The Supersoft is held single. These yarns are pretty unique, I cannot imagine a substitution.

Tatjana shawl 3: Triskelion Yarn Emrys Aran, two (100 gram/166 meters) skeins of 100% British Blue-faced Leicester in different colors, and Merino Sock, one (100 gram/356 meter) skein for the lace border. Those yarns are made by indie dyers, so they are not always available in the same fibers or color ways. As a substitute you can use Drops Nepal, with Drops Alpaca, or another aran weight yarn with a sock weight counterpart. Make sure you have enough yarn if you substitute, most of the yarn in the skeins is used.
