Tattercoats' Mitts
by Emma Olson
Written for the Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop ’24: Fairy Tales, these crocheted linen stitch mitts are inspired by how Minnesota-based author Trung Le Nguyen intertwines the past, the present, and the fantastical in his novel “The Magic Fish.” An optional tie is woven through at the wrist and tied into a whimsical bow, reflecting the juxtaposition of fairy tale endings with a rough and tumble life.
These one-size fingerless mitts are worked flat in linen stitch
and seamed up the side. Finished measurements are
6.5” around & 8.5” long (easily modified for different wrist circumferences).
