Taunton is a top-down, pullover sweater with gentle waist shaping that gives way to a slight A-line look. It is knit in-the-round with a fair isle pattern on both the yoke and sleeves. Short rows are used to shape the neckline after the fair isle yoke pattern is completed. A combination of garter and simple slip stitches adorns the neckband, cuffs and bottom band making for a unique edging on the sweater.
Information for adjusting sleeve and body length are included in the pattern. The fair isle motifs are both written and charted. Video tutorials are included for the short row shaping and edging stitch.
Gauge 24 sts by 36 rounds = 4” on US 5
Yarn
In an effort to minimize leftover yarn, I have broken the required amount(s) of Miss Babs Yowza (100% superwash merino, 560 yds/227g or 200 yds/80g) for the MC into full/mini skeins. (If there is no slash with a second number, then only full skeins are required.) All skeins for the CC are Yowza mini skeins.
2 (2, 2/1, 2/2, 2/2, 3, 3) (3, 3/1, 3/1, 3/2, 3/2, 4/1) full skeins/mini skein(s) of MC and 1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2) mini skein(s) for CC.
