This pattern was written for the “The Hobbit Sock Month” from “Atelier Het Wolbeest”. I love Tolkien and have since I was a teenager. And I think the movies were done very well. I have lost count of how many times I watched both trilogies.

What I especially line in the Hobbit movie trilogy is Tauriel and Kili’s love story. Although Tauriel doesn’t exist in the books, she fits perfectly in the movie. I have tried to incorporate elements from Tauriel (the pattern in her daggers) and Kili (the rune stone and the cable pattern on his clothing) into the pattern and hope you will enjoy knitting your own socks.

Advanced sock knitters: In my opinion any pattern should contain all of the information you need to knit that particular pattern. You should be able to knit the whole pattern without having to use the internet or being a walking knitting encyclopedia. As a result my patterns are quite extensive. Take what you need and skip the other bits.
