Crochet this fun Candy Corn Horns Taurus hat in 5 different sizes:
Child = 17” head circumference, 8.25” depth.
Youth = 19” head circumference, 8.5” depth.
Adult Small = 20” head circumference, 9.5” depth.
Adult Medium = 21” head circumference, 10” depth.
Adult Large = 22” head circumference, 10.5” depth.
Yarn used for hat: Red Heart Super Saver Worsted Weight Yarn:
(85, 90, 110, 135, 165) yards #312/Black.
(25, 30, 38, 40, 42) yards #326/Oatmeal.
10 to 15 yards #256/Carrot.
J/10-6.00mm crochet hook is used for the hat, or a hook size to obtain a gauge of 6 single crochet by 8 rows = 2” square.
The Horns are crocheted separately and then sewn onto the sides og the hat. Measurements are 8” circumference at base of horn; 11” length from base, measuring around the curve, to the tip.
Yarn used for horns: Red Heart Super Saver Medium Worsted Weight Yarn:
15 yards #319/Cherry Red;
35 yards #254/Pumpkin;
40 yards #235/Lemon
12 yards #326/Oatmeal
Hook size G/6-4.00mm crochet hook (a smaller hook may be used to produce a smaller horn size).
You will also need a yarn needle and polyester fiberfill.
Pattern is written in US terms for multiple sizes, with the stitch count needed for different sizes indicated in brackets and different colors of print. There are many photo illustrations included in the pattern to demonstrate more complex parts of making the hat and horns, as well as for the following stitches used: surface slip stitch (Ssl st), single crochet (sc), single crochet 2 together (sc2tog), foundation single crochet (fsc), half double crochet (hdc), and double crochet(dc).
