This is the cover project on Simply Knitting 76, February 2011, Buckles Supplement. It’s a beanie with a buckled and cabled headband with bobbles, and stockinet crown. The headband is knitted sideways with two needles, then stitches for the crown are picked up on dpns or a circular needle from one side of the headband. The buckle is added to the headband to finish, and the band is then adjusted to fit the head before sewing permanently in place.

One 100g ball of the recommended yarn is required. This hat was designed to use the free 2.5in/6.5mm buckle supplied with Simply Knitting magazine, issue 76.

There is no stitch diagram or chart, but there is a photo tutorial on making one increase.
