Tea Rose Socks
The Tea Rose Socks are the elegant alternative to your usual crazy colorful hand knitted pair of socks.
The lace pattern itself already looks very put together but paired with a picot edging, these socks will make you feel like the Queen of England.
If you are new to knitting a picot edge, I have included a short video on how to add a picot edging to your socks.
I have chosen to add a German short row heel (the Boomerang heel) to the pattern, because it is a plain and simple heel that won’t distract from the lace pattern.
The pattern looks great on solid colored yarn, but the lace is also visible enough to be combined with variegated / speckled yarn.
If you want to wear the socks in summer, you can skip the leg and just combine the picot edge with the lace pattern along the foot.
You will need about 100 g of 4-ply sock yarn to knit these socks. The instructions are written for DPNs (2.5 mm), but you can also knit the socks using the Magic Loop technique.
The pattern is written for socks in the size 37 (US 6) but there are instructions included on how to knit the socks in other sizes (EU 32-45). You will however need to cast on 56, 64 or 72 stitches!
The pattern includes step-by-step instructions for the picot edge, lace pattern, heel and toe shape.
If you need more help, I have also filmed a video on how to knit a picot edge.
Be aware: this is a digital product! You won’t receive a printed version of this pattern, just the digital version in pdf format, that you can read on your computer using a pdf reading software.
