This vest was hugely popular with my students when I used to teach regularly at Stitches. It was published as a more generalized recipe, with notes and charts.
This vest features a lace edging (chart provided), corrugated ribbing picked up along the top edge of the lace, fair isle patterning, steeks, and a 2-row suspended bind-off to give the armholes some easy shaping.
This is the perfect project for today’s thinking knitter and would adapt perfectly to all of the beautiful handpainted sock yarn currently on the market. This could be the ultimate left-over sock yarn project for knitters who want a change from afghan knitting.
Easily adjusted for size and not hard to adapt for hour-glass shaping at the side seams for knitters desiring a more fitted shape.
