Teasel is another part of the Evolver project - an ongoing study of traditional shawl forms that evolve into other shapes. Designed to look great in your wardrobe and appeal to shawl- and sweater-knitters alike, Teasel is a great project to ease you into late summer and fall!

Knit in Malabrigo Yarns Arroyo, this sweet open-front sweater is quick to knit, fall-friendly, and wearable. It comes in 3 size options, and looks good in hand-dyed or natural fibers.

Teaselpod’s minimalist design lends itself well to everything from sleek yarns to rustic all-natural handspun wool. The written pattern is pretty intuitive, but features thorough line-by-line instructions.

Gauge is 16.5 st/4 inches; be sure to check your gauge and use the needle size you need! I get this gauge on US 6 with Arroyo, but you may need larger or smaller sizes.

Use 2 skeins of Malabrigo Arroyo, or 380-480 yards of woolsport to DK weight yarn. If spinning your own yarn, aim for about 11-12 WPI.

You’ll also need:
1 24”-36” circular needle in size needed for gauge
1 16 inch circular needle in size needed for gauge
Scrap yarn to hold stitches and crochet chains (cotton and non-grabby fibers work best)
yarn needle for finishing

NOTE:
When planning this project, be sure to use a wool or very high-percentage wool yarn! It’s important to be sure your yarn will take and hold a very firm final blocking for the flared look of the samples.
