Teddy Bear
This pattern is written using US crochet terms. The sample was made using thread and a 1.5mm hook. If using thread, you can use thread joints for the arms and legs. If using yarn, I recommend either using joints or sewing the limbs in fixed positions. I find the bear works well in DK weight yarn with 20mm joints for the legs and thread jointed arms. Be sure to use a hook size suitable for the chosen thread or yarn. The size of safety eyes needed also depends on the yarn thickness. I used 7.5mm eyes. You need two colours; one for the main colour and a contrast for the nose and mouth. This is an advanced beginner pattern. There are no complicated stitches, just sc, increases and decreases. The bear is worked as a continuous spiral so you will need a stitch marker or yarn scrap to mark the round you’re working on.
