The pattern is to create a teddy bear hat that fits the male adult head size and a kitty hat that fits the average female adult head size. The ears are interchangeable however, so it’s possible to make the hat size that you need for your hat even if your gender doesn’t match the way I wrote the pattern.

I wrote the pattern so everything is made by crochet, no felt needed to do the colouring for the ears. The pattern is worked in the round for the hat and ears but you’ll need to know how to crochet in rows to do the contrast colour pieces for the ears. Or you can just use felt if that’s easier for you.

To make this, you need to know how to double crochet as well as single crochet and you will need to know how to increase and decrease.
