The cardigan is knitted top-down in the round using 8ply (DK) yarn, so it knits up quickly! It uses knit and purl stitches and yarns over, and has a stranded colourwork yoke. There are no seams, but the sleeves require the use of either magic loop (on circular needles) or double-pointed needles.

This pattern is for size 18 months to 2 years, and measures approximately 40cm (16 inches) long from shoulder to waist, 40-55cm (22 inches) around the chest, and 22cm (9 inches) from armpit to cuff. You will need 125-150g of the background yarn and 30-50g of the contrast yarn. I knitted it using worsted-weight pure wool yarn, so the measurements and weights may vary if you use polyester or wool.

The pattern calls for 3.5mm (size 4) and 4.5mm (size 7) needle sizes, as well as a large-eyed darning needle to sew in the ends.
