The cardigan is knitted top-down in the round using 8ply (DK) yarn, so it knits up quickly! It uses knit and purl stitches and yarns over, and has a stranded colourwork yoke. There are no seams, but the sleeves require the use of either magic loop (on circular needles) or double-pointed needles.

This pattern is for size 3-9 months, and measures approximately 30cm (12 inches) long from shoulder to waist, 40-45cm (17-18 inches) around the chest, and 12cm (6.5 inches) from armpit to cuff. You will need 150-200g of the background yarn and 100-150g of the contrast yarn. I tested it using both worsted-weight pure wool yarn and DK brushed polyester, and found that it was wider and slightly longer in the brushed polyester, so the measurements may vary slightly yet again if you use another medium such as cotton.

The pattern calls for 3.5mm (size 4) and 4.5mm (size 7) needle sizes, as well as a large-eyed darning needle to sew in the ends.
