This easy crochet pattern can be made in a day. The crochet sweater or crochet cardigan looks good in any color. This blanket shrug is made from a rectangle. This sweater is available in all womens sizes and can be easily modified. This shrug is like an oversized cocoon and keeps you warm and cosy, meant for a perfect lazy lounging day. There is a YouTube tutorial that explains in detail and I have linked it at the end of this pattern.
Size- One size fits most. Instructions for alteration available.
Skill- advanced beginner, easy beginner friendly
Yarn: Use any blanket yarn or chenille yarn or 6 super bulky yarn.
Suggested yarn: Bernat Blanket, any shade.
Material: 100% polyester. Yardage: 220 yards/ 201 m in 300 g/ 10.5 oz.
Amount: 1290 g needed, (946 yards approx) of MC, less than 1 skein of CC (optional).
Note: For a change in border/ length more yarn may be needed. You can use any yarn suitable for your hook size. I am using a larger hook than recommended for yarn for more drape. Do not use heavy yarn fiber if you plan to move a lot wearing the shrug as it will become cumbersome. I have used a local yarn.
Hook: 10 mm (can be adjusted to match gauge).
Notions: Tapestry needle, scissors, measuring tape, stitch markers/ safety pin.
The pattern is written in US crochet terms. This is a 10 page PDF pattern. A print version is available. The pattern is detailed with tips and images, it is easy beginner friendly. It has detailed written instructions, row by row with notes. It does not include finished product. There is a YouTube tutorial on my channel “lets all crochet” that explains in detail and I have linked it.
