Oh my snuggle wuggles, this is a cozy vest! Over the years I’ve developed a love for natural yarn. I love the sustainability aspect of using plant or animal fibres over man-made acrylics, as well as the value of handmade products that make use of more expensive materials over cheap, mass-produced clothing. However, when I discovered faux fur yarn that looks real and has a gentle drape, I had to try it out.

I maintain my stance that acrylic yarns do not compare with natural fibres, particularly when it comes to breathability. Thus, my original plan to make a sweater transformed into being just a vest. I was also never intending to share a pattern but was swayed by others also wanting to try this yarn out. And so, here is my teddy bear vest.

There are 9 sizes included in the pattern.
XS (S, M, L, XL) {2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL}
Bust circumference: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48) {52, 56, 60, 64}” / 81.5 (91.5, 101.5, 112, 122) {132, 142, 152.5, 162.5} cm

4” - 6” positive ease in the bust circumference intended

Finished length is adjustable.

Note that sizes 3XL - 5XL were not test knitted.

358 (400, 444, 510, 554) {605, 655, 720, 771} m / 392 (437, 486, 558, 606) {662, 716, 787, 843} yds super bulky faux fur yarn.

Please be advised that yarn requirements and finished size measurements are approximate. Actual values may vary based on garment size, yarn, needle size, and gauge.

Model is a size 32” bust, wearing the size S.

This pattern requires knowledge of:

• Reading patterns with multiple size options
• Knitting flat
• Basic 1 and 2 st decreases
• Mattress stitch
• Three needle bind off
• Sewing zippers (optional)
