Tee Top - Tucked Yoke
Tucked front yoke and subtle “knot flower” pattern stitch overall. Body is knit in the round up to the armholes. Sleeves are knitted flat in order to accommodate changes to width and shaping from the bottom edge up to the armholes. Set-in sleeves. Garter Stitch eyelet edgings. Jewel neckline with single button closure at back neck.
Subtle overall body pattern stitch is a little knot design that resembles a flower. It is super easy, while breaking up the monotony of plain Stockinette Stitch. I think it adds a more classy look to the little knit tee.
I used my favorite yarn for knitting clothing and socks here in the heat and humidity of Texas: 5/2 perle cotton (but any yarn producing gauge would work for this knit t-shirt). Size 5 perle cotton has a lightweight drape like interlock knit jersey, but it is much more breathable. Besides the cool comfort, it can be dyed easily with Procion MX fiber-reactive dyes, which makes buying it by the cone very attractive. The 5/2 perle is a fine fingering-weight cotton yarn, 2100 yds per lb (or about 24 wraps/inch), and is available in yarn and weaving shops online.
Required Yardage: 1069 1144, 1354, 1503, 1700, 1900, 2145, 2350 yds
Knitted gauge in Stockinette Stitch (knit 1 row, purl 1 row) is 8 stitches and 11 rows per inch on size 2 US needles. This is a stable gauge, and if cotton is used, it will not stretch out of shape (or grow, as can happen with an unstable, loose gauge).
