TeePee
A striking and dramatic asymmetric wrap featuring chevrons and stripes, in a design nod to the old spaghetti western. It’s a deceptively simple garter stitch pattern and is surprisingly quick to knit up in a light and floaty lace weight mohair/silk yarn. Have fun choosing and playing with your own mix of colourways!
The yarns used in the sample can be substituted with any kid mohair/silk lace weight; other lace weight yarn bases should also work well with this design, or heavier weight yarns, such as fingering/4 ply (photos 2 and 3 show fingering weight versions of the pattern).
The size of the wrap is easily customizable: you can knit the chevron section as long or as wide as you want by extending the row/stitch pattern repeats; you can also knit the striped section as long as you want. The border will work in the same way as explained in the pattern – you simply pick up more stitches.
Actual total yards/meters used in the sample: 1069 yds/977.5 m.
