This cowl has been made for a good friend’s new “lawful” daughter (as she weds her son) :)
I made it in a smaller size and then thought that the longer length would be nicer, so went double :)
This cowl has a lovely beret/slouchy as well - and the pattern is available in my Ravelry store too.
This pattern has been tested using :
a) D.K. ply acrylic yarn ,Vardhaman Millenium, 45 gms / 149 yds ; 4.5 mm crochet hook (for L = 24”)
b) D.K. ply acrylic yarn, Vardhaman Millenium , 90 gms / ~300 yds, 4.5 mm crochet hook (for L = 48”)
c) D.K weight, Colourmart ; 42 gms ; 4.5 mm crochet hook ;
Comments :Instructions, chart n photos good. Took about 2 hrs.
Skill level by tester :Advanced beginner
d) JoAnn’s Sensations Cuddle (light DK) ; ~~2.5 oz / 300 yds ; G (4 mm) crochet hook ;
Comments :Instructions & photos very clear and helpful ; took me one day with several break , could be done in 4 hrs of nonstop crocheting
Skill level by tester :Very easy
e) Pound of love ; under 100 gms : 4.5 mm crochet hook;
Comments : Instructions were clear, Illustrations and photos helpful ; took about 1.5 hrs
Skill level by tester : Advanced because of fsc.
f) Life DK Prints by Stylecraft, shade 2396, Volcano ; ~25 gms ; with 4.5 mm crochet hook ;
Gauge : 22 sts/30 rows - 3 edc sets over 4”;
Comments : Very clear,esp the st explanation ; really helpful to have photos and instructions, and very clear photos; took about 4 hrs ;
Skill level by tester : Not difficult at all
g) Nerd Girls Yarns Swanky (4 ply fingering) ; 70g /305 yds ; 4.5mm crochet hook ;
Comments : Instructions and photos were clear ; took about 6 hrs
Skill level by tester : Easy.
