Teleidoscope Tam
This stranded colorwork tam is a great first project for a beginner in stranded colorwork. Only two colors of yarn are used for the hat, but using a color-changing yarn with long color repeats gives the illusion of a greater level of complexity than there actually is.
To knit this project, you will need to know how to cast on, knit and purl, read and work from a colorwork chart, do basic increases and decreases (m1, k2tog, ssk, sk2po), and work I-cord.
Yarn requirements:
Main color: approximately 150 yds./138 m
Contrast color: approximately 120 yds./110 m
Sample shown in Knit Picks Chroma Fingering in Prism and Knit Picks Palette in Black
Tam measures approximately 10 in./25.5 cm across the top after blocking.
