This design is a combination of two very old, classic Norwegian patterns ☆

The leaves pattern is an old design, first published in Annichen Sibberns book “Norske strikkemonstre” (1905) - and it reminds me of the antique “rosemaling” painted designs seen on antiques from Telemark and Setesdal in Norway.

The star is the classic little selbustar, famous from Norwegian
knitting designs for centuries.
It reminds me of the starry winternights in the mountains of Telemark.
