Temperature Blanket
Temperature Blanket:
4.00mm hook
Snowball DK yarn
I am doing the 366 days (as this year 2024 is leap year) blanket from 1 January - 31 December 2024 for the current town we live in.
A temperature blanket is simply a blanket that you crochet 1 row (or motif, depending on pattern chosen) on everyday for 365 days or 366 for a leap year.
Typically, they are started in January and completed in December, but they can vary starting in any month you choose. Or, they can even be 6 month blankets. I’ve actually seen people do temperature scarves and even temperature dresses, so the idea doesn’t have to just stick with blankets.
Some people even do them for a past year that has a special meaning like the year they married or the year their child was born and use a special color on the day of the special event.
You will usually crochet a row in the color coordinating with the temperature outside. Color and temperature charts help with this. Your color scheme can range from rainbow, bright colors or you can do more neutral tones if that is your preference.
There are so many options for temperature blankets that I don’t think I could list them all, it basically comes down to preference and what you like as to how you create your blanket.
Enjoy creating your own!
