I invite you to join along with me for an all-new dishcloth knitting adventure!

I’m so excited to have you join along with me for this brand new
creative and cozy journey through 12 months of knitting starting in January 2025!

During this year-long Knit-a-Long (KAL), we’ll be turning the rhythm of nature into art, one row at a time. Together, we’ll create vibrant, unique dishcloths that capture the daily temperatures of the places we call home throughout the year.

It’ll be like journaling with yarn, and by year’s end, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind piece that tells the story of your year in colours and stitches for each month!

Each month you’ll receive a tracker for the upcoming month where you can record the temperature each day, track your progress and record the yarn you’re using.

When you purchase this pattern, you’ll receive a pdf with general information and tips as well as a printable pdf to organize your 12 yarn choices corresponding to the 12 different temperature ranges (see photo)

The tracker for each month is unique with instructions on how to knit 12 dishcloths all the same size.

What you’ll need to participate:

  • 100% worsted cotton yarn (I recommend Estelle Sudz) in 12 different colours. the colours can represent the temperature range (for example start with blue (cold) and move to green then red (hot), or you can choose a fade or even just your favourite colours! It doesn’t matter which colours you choose, as long as you have 12 different colours
  • the amount of each colour you’ll need will depend on where you live and the weather this upcoming year. Start with one ball of each of the 12 colours, knowing that you may need to purchase a second, or even third, ball of some colours
  • straight or circular US 4/3.5 mm needles

This KAL is for fun - there will be prizes along the way, but there is no obligation to knit all 12 and there are no deadlines!

The pattern is simple and perfect for beginner and experienced knitters alike!
