Needles: US 10 (6 mm) 24-32” (60-80 cm) circular needles

Supplies: Tapestry needle, blocking pins or wires

Gauge:

  • Before blocking: 16 sts to 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch worked flat.
  • After blocking: 12-14 sts to 4” (10 cm) in stockinette stitch worked flat. See Notes about target gauge.

Extra notes: The Temperature Tee is designed to be worn with 4-8” (10-20 cm) of positive ease for the Child/Youth sizes and 6-12” (15-30.5 cm) of positive ease for the Adult sizes. This generous ease allows for a light and open fit. To choose the best size, measure your full bust measurement and choose a size between 6 and 12”/15 and 30.5 cm (or 4-8”/10-20cm for the Child/Youth sizes) larger than your full measurement. The sample is a size 3 modeled on a 40” (101.5 cm) chest circumference with 8” (20.5 cm) of positive ease.

Adjusting the sweater length is easily done by knitting each piece to the desired measurement. The best way to choose your length is to measure a shirt that you love from your own closet. Lay it flat on a table and measure form the top of the shoulder to the bottom hem to get the height of it and then knit and block your Tee according to that new measurement. Keep in mind, additional yarn may be required and additional vertical length will need to be seamed up the side of the garment to retain the armhole depth as designed.

Due to the bouncy nature of the specified yarn, and the open nature of the fabric, the finished measurements are approximate. We recommend knitting a gauge swatch, targeting the pre-blocked gauge, to achieve your desired size results. Adjust needle size as necessary to match gauge.

All sweater pieces are worked flat and them seamed. Neck opening and arm openings can be adjusted for desired fit. Seam fewer stitches/rows at each shoulder/side seam for a more open neckline/armhole; seam more stitches/rows for a closer fit.
