Temperatures are Rising Climate Scarf
A stylish way to express your approval of #ClimateActionNow without saying a word.
This scarf is a combination of the concepts of the Quick Climate Scarf and the Impressionist Climate Scarf with inspiration from The Point Scarf by Christopher Bahls to provide the impression of years and decades.
The colourway is based on the appearance of the Global Temperature 6 Colour Climate scarf illustrating 100 years of global climate (1920-2019), but uses gradient dyed yarn and a eyelet pattern to imply decades. For another accurate Global Climate scarf see Common Grace’s Knit for Climate Action scarf.
Instructions are also given using a pseudo-gradient created by using 2 strands of 4ply yarn. There are also suggestions of other possible lace designs to try.
Note that the trial scarf was started from the cool end to indicate which direction the temperatures need to go, however, the instructions are given so that the ‘arrow-heads’ are pointing in the direction of the increasing temperature to match the name. Choose which you prefer.
