Equally appealing to men and women, this cold weather, textural scarf is composed of three different stitches, basket weave, woven, and single crochet rib stitch for a great contour around the neck. Works up quickly in one piece! Directions written for bulky yarn, but modifications for worsted weight are given, along with charts and photos. Directions for a matching headband/ear-warmer also given to use up leftover yarn. It’s great as a heart-felt gift for a birthday or holiday, for charity, or just to say, “I care” to someone special. Suited for the intermediate crocheter and the beginner who is ready to move to the next level. Finished size is 52 inches long x 9 inches wide. Yarn requirements for bulky weight is approximately 273 yards/249 m using an 8,0 mm (L/11) hook; for worsted weight yarn, 427yds/391 m using a 6.0 mm (J) hook. Notions required include a yarn needle for weaving in ends. If you choose to make the matching headband you will also need an elastic ponytail holder and one 8-9 mm pony bead.
