This hat is knit from the top down. It starts flat and after shaping the crown you can knit it in the round. You can also knit the body of the hat on a bulky machine at T9. Scrap it on and off, then add the crown and Brim.

The hat can be made smaller in increments of 8 stitches by reducing the number of rows in the crown. As knit, the circumference is 20 inches which will fit a youth to an adult. Make the crown 1/2 to 1’ deeper for an adult.
