YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE  3/15 yarns get a gauge of 6.5 stitches/8.5  rows per inch at about stitch size 7 on Passaps  and 8 on Japanese machines. If you cannot match gauge perfectly,  strive to match the stitch gauge and adjust  your row count as needed. 3 types of hem are possible. The sample was knitted with an entirely black hem and sleeve hems  then alternating 20 rows each of black and  white stripes
