Plenty DK from Hole in the Wool Yarns can be found HERE!

The Tessa Cowl is a one-skein project with an intuitive process and a lovely result. Elegant lacy insets in the cowl’s base hint at spring weather and allow it to sit beautifully around the neck. The cables shine with the superb stitch definition of Hole in the Wool’s Plenty DK, while the yarn’s merino content adds softness and drape. This pattern was a special collaboration for the 2019 Great Basin Fiber Arts Fair between Katinka Designs, dyer Hole in the Wool, and bag-maker Snickle and Mr. B.

This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.

Recommended Yarn:
Hole in the Wool Plenty DK — 100% extra fine superwash merino — 250 yds (229 m) to 115 g per skein. Shown in colorways Dashwood (pink-taupe) and Rain (grey).

Cowl uses one full skein — 250 yds (229 m) — which includes an extra yardage allowance of 10%.

Sizing:
35” (89 cm) around base and 18” (46 cm) around body, 11” high (28 cm).

Gauge:
One Main Body Repeat (17 sts x 20 rnds) = 2.5” (6.5 cm) x 2.75” (7 cm).

PLEASE NOTE: I knit the samples with US 6 (4 mm) needles, but I knit fairly tightly. To meet given dimensions and ensure enough yarn, use needle size that gives gauge. Changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of motifs, and amount of yarn used.

Needles:
US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles in 24” (60 cm) and 16” (40 cm) lengths.

Other Materials:
Seven stitch markers (one distinct to mark beginning of round), cable needle in appropriate size, tapestry needle.
