Tesserae Shawl
We wanted a shawl that works on all body shapes—one with colourful geometric patterning and plenty of length. Holli delivered. You can pass Tesserae Shawl around your shoulders twice or more and still tie it. Its unique shape, the merino- cashmere combo of hand-dyed Eden, and the mosaic patterning create a stand-out shawl for any season. And the squishy, soft garter stitch molds itself around your shoulders. You won’t want to take it off. Ever.
The knitting pattern includes both charts and written instructions, multiple images, schematic with measurements, a construction overview, and modification notes.

Want to try an Adam & Eve version? One of our knitterly friends worked a smaller scale version in River City Yarns Adam & Eve:
MC: 2.2 skeins in Relic (750m)
CC: 1 skein in Silver (250m)
She also used a 3.75mm knitting needle
Substitution Notes
The original yarn is a worsted weight merino/cashmere/nylon blend that knits up at 5 sts per inch (2.5 cm) using a 3.75-4.5 mm (US 5-7) needle. Choose a worsted weight yarn in a fibre blend that you enjoy knitting with and wearing. A fingering weight yarn with a smaller needle will also work, creating a slightly smaller shawl.
Techniques
Increases/decreases, garter stitch, mosaic knitting (slipped stitches).
