A lovely, simple lace cowl designed with Abigail Hobbs in mind. Feel the cozy noose of family legacy tightening while hiding the evidence of your own aborted slaughtering!

Tête de Veau is worked in the round from the bottom up. The size is easily adjusted by adding or subtracting repeats of the lace ribbing pattern. Fingering weight yarn is recommended, but it can be knit in a heavier weight yarn for a cozy winter cowl. Just cast on fewer stitches and knit until you are happy with the height.

Materials:

  • one skein Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine or 200 yards fingering weight yarn
  • 16” US 3 (3.25mm) circular needle
  • stitch marker
  • tapestry needle

Skills needed: Knitting, purling, knitting in the round, basic lace knitting skills. Some experience with lace knitting is recommended, but this would also make a good first lace project.

The Tête de Veau pattern is inspired by the character Abigail Hobbs as seen in NBC’s Hannibal. It is available individually for purchase or as part of the Edite Insolentes ebook.
