Tetra Hat is knit in the round in an easy 2-coloured stitch pattern which uses only 1 colour per round. Stranded colourwork technique is not required, the motives are created by knitting below.


Gauge
16 sts and 33 rounds = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Tetra 2-colour Stitch Pattern knit in the round with needle A after blocking
Base gauge: 17 sts and 26 rounds = 10x10 cm/4”x4” in Stockinette Stitch knit in the round with needle A after blocking
Obtaining the correct gauge is not crucial, but any differences will affect the size of the finished hat.

Finished Measurements
50 cm / 19½” circumference at widest point, 22 cm / 8½” height. Comfortably fit average adult head sizes (20-22”), the sample shown on a 55 cm / 21½ inches head.

Approximately 80 m/87 y of MC and 51 m/56 y of CC.

Sample made with The Plucky Knitter Scholar (75% merino, 25% cashmere; 233 m/255 y per skein) in colourway Magnet & Steel as MC and Modern Vintage as CC.

Needles
· needle A: 80 cm/32” circular needle or 40 cm/16” circular needle and double pointed needles (dpns) in size 4.5 mm/ US 7 (or size to obtain gauge)
· needle B: 80 cm/32” circular needle or 40 cm/16” circular needle and double pointed needles (dpns) in size 4.0 mm/ US 6 or one size smaller than needle A for the Ribbing
· needle C: 80 cm/32” circular needle or 40 cm/16” circular needle and double pointed needles (dpns) in size 3.5 mm/ US 4 or two sizes smaller than needle B for the Tubular Cast On (optional)

40 cm/16” circular needles and dpns are optional if you prefer the Magic Loop Method for working small circumferences in the round.
