When I was in Texas, I designed this airy and comfortable tee to get me through the hot September-days. It is knit at an open gauge, allowing the yarn to drape softly around the body.

The Texas Tee is a simple top-down t-shirt with a deep raglan, designed to be worn with 3-6 inches of positive ease. It has folded over hems at the neckline and sleeves, and a two-color ribbing at the body. The Lone Star is added after the knitting, using duplicate stitch in a contrasting color.

Please note that this pattern has not been tested in sizes 7 and 8. I have chosen to include them regardless – if you want to test knit one of them, please feel free to contact me, and I will send you a free pattern!

Sizes:
1-2-3 (4-5-6) 7-8

Bust circumference (on finished garment):
94-104-114 (124-134-144) 154-164 cm / 37-41-45 (49-52.8-56.7) 60.6-64.6 inches (on finished garment).

Fit:
The Texas Tee is a boxy top, designed to have quite a lot of positive ease – the sample has 15 cm / 6 inches, but you can knit it with more or less ease, depending on your personal preference. There is short row shaping in the neck and at the hem in the back to make it comfortably relaxed.

Yardage:
800-800-800 (1200-1200-1200) 1600-1600 meter / 874-8874-874 (1312-1312-1312) 1749-1749 yards fingering weight or sock yarn in the main color, and
150 meter / 164 yards (all sizes) in the contrast color.
The sample is knit in Blue Mule Fiber XtraFine, in the colorway Midnight, TX (main color), and Chasing Rabbits Fiber Co Solo, in the colorway Bog (contrasting color).

Suggested needles:
2.75 mm/US 2 circular, 80 cm/31 inch for the ribbing (using Magic Loop where needed).
4 mm/US 4 circular, 80 cm/31 inch for body and sleeves (using Magic Loop where needed).

Gauge:
21 stitches x 30 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches (after blocking). Adjust needle size if needed to obtain gauge!
