Texel Beanie

Texel Beanie knitted with leftover wool, matching the Texel Bag.
The inspiration for this pattern is the island Texel. This Texel wool which I bought on the island in the winter of 2016. Pure and undyed and beautiful colours. The island with it’s different landscapes, the sheep between the “tuunwallen” (earth walls instead of fencing between the fields, characteristic for Texel), the special sheds all with their tilted roofs in the wind. The seals on the sandbanks and the passing sailboats, you see from the ferry. The many birds in the nature reserves on the island and the life on the beach in the sand and the waves. I fell in love with it this Beanie is my Texel.

The original is knitted with Texel sheep wool made by the Noordkroon on Texel
100 grams/1 strand, middle thickness, Surf white (Branding Wit)
100 grams/1 strand, middle thickness, Shell grey (Schelpen Grijs)
100 grams/1 strand, middle thickness, Texel blue (Texel Blauw)

I used the leftover wool of the Texel Bag but minimal is two colours of wool.
This wool is sold in strands of 100-gram length 240 meters, the beanie is knitted with a circular 3,5 mm needle of 60 cm.

Muts Texel

Deze muts is gebreid van de overgebleven wol van de Texel tas
De inspiratie voor dit patroon is het eiland Texel. Deze Texelse wol die ik heb gekocht op het eiland in de winter van 2016. Puur en ongeverfd en prachtig van kleur. Het eiland met al zijn verschillende landschappen, de schapen tussen de tuunwallen, de bijzondere schuren allen met de schuine kant in de wind. De zeehondjes op het wad en de passerende zeilboten die je ziet vanuit de veerboot. De vele vogels in de natuurgebieden en het leven op het strand in het zand en de golven. Ik ben er verliefd op geworden en deze muts is mijn Texel.

Het origineel is gebreid met restjes Texelse schapenwol van De Noordkroon op Texel:
100 gram / 1 streng, dikte middel, Branding wit
100 gram/ 1 streng, dikte middel, Schelpen grijs
100 gram/ 1 streng, dikte middel, Texel blauw
Deze wol wordt verkocht in strengen van circa 100 gram met een looplengte van circa 240 meter. Gebruik voor de muts minimaal 2 kleuren en een rondbreinaald van 3,5 mm van 60 cm lengte.
