Texel Gloves
If you like this, but prefer fingerless mittens, check out my Fingerless Texels! Both patterns are also available in the Texel eBook.
Texel is an island in the North Sea and the stitch patterns of these gloves remind me of the waves of the sea. Knit them in sea and beach colours, as shown here, or make it a colourful, abstract pattern. Why not use up all those little leftover bits of wool to make each row of waves a different colour?
The sizes are Women’s XS/S, Women’s M, Women’s L/Men’s S, Men’s M/L, for 17, 19, 20.5, 22.5cm (= 6⅝, 7⅜, 8⅛, 8⅞”) glove circumference above thumb, to fit hands of same size or larger. The stitch pattern stretches well to provide a good fit.
Two options are given for the cuff: a pretty scallop cuff with a loose fit, and a practical, snug fitting ribbed cuff.
Meters/yardage is given in full Regia 4ply skeins (2 skeins for main colour, 1 skein for second colour).
The pattern provides detailed instructions (8 pages) with illustrations.
Lots of thanks to all my wonderful test knitters!
