Texting Mittens
I wanted a pair of mittens that would allow me to text easily without freezing my thumbs off. I couldn’t find a pattern that I really liked, so I made up my own.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN… I can’t stress enough the importance of doing a gauge swatch! You will refer to your swatch throughout this project, since the pattern is written based on my measurements (ladies medium) and my gauge (23 rows and 16 st = 3” on size 4 needles). I can pretty much guarantee that you will need to adjust your stitch counts based on your gauge. I know you probably think swatching is a pain, but just do it. You’ll thank yourself in the end. There’s honestly nothing I hate more than knitting half (or more!) of a project only to find that my gauge is way off and I have to rip the whole thing out because it doesn’t fit.
This pattern has not been test knit! If you have any questions or find a mistake, please let me know so I can correct it.
