Textured Cord Basket
Any cord basket is possible to make if you a have a comprehensive tutorial for it. The pattern for this storage basket is written in standard English with beginners in mind. The file of the instructions also includes some pictures illustrating how certain steps should look like.
For this macrame cord, you will need up to 40 meters of cord and a 7 mm hook. To make the sides of the basket, I used a 9 mm hook, because I tend to make tight stitches. By using a bigger hook, I was able to make soft sides that did not go inwards. The hook size is optional, so, if you find that a 7 mm hook fits you, go along with it.
This cord basket is fun to make because of its texture which is achieved by combining different stitches. If you know how to crochet the double crochet stitch, you will easily manage to work the double treble stitch.
For working the double treble stitch, I recommend using a hook that does not have a rubber handle or any other addition that would restrict you from wrapping the cord around the hook several times.
If you have any questions, I am here to answer them. Have fun making your perfect storage basket.
