This is a project which is worked usually using one skein (approx 100g / 400m) of sock weight (4ply) yarn. It works well with variegated hand dyed yarns, making it suitable for those really precious skeins of cashmere, silk or yak mix yarns, but the yarn selection is up to you really.

You will need a 4mm hook and a yarn needle for sewing in ends.
