TWO SEPARATE SWEATER PATTERNS INCLUDED!!

I have written two different patterns in order to make the same sweater in different yarn weights and using different size crochet hooks. This makes it easy for you to make different sizes of sweaters. Also, the sweater is easy to adapt for different sizes of pets and directions are given for how to customize the sweater size. The collar style and size can also easily be adapted if you prefer that.

An adorable and cozy sweater for a special pet in your life or as a gift for a loved one’s pet. The texture of this dog sweater makes it warm and also looks beautiful. Using different types of yarn in different colours you can create both sporty, classic sweaters and whimsical, pretty sweaters. My dog, Luna, loves this sweater and is very comfortable in it when wearing it outside or inside to keep the chill off of her. The extra large collar is perfect for helping to keep your pet warm and healthy as it acts as both a collar and a scarf in how it keeps your pet’s neck warm. The sweater is very easy to pull over Luna’s head which she appreciates.

ADAPTATION FOR MALE DOG: The bottom of my dog Luna’s sweater comes right down to her hind legs and does not impede her ability to urinate without hitting the sweater. Due to the anatomy of male dogs, a sweater this long in the front might make it difficult for the dog to urinate without hitting the sweater. An adaptation of the pattern can be made for this if you would like to have the sweater longer on the back of the dog and shorter in the belly area.

* Any brand and colour of yarn in these weight categories may be used for this pattern.

NOTE: You may also use weight 5 and 6 with larger hooks if you want to make a heavier, larger size pattern.

Hook: 4mm & 5.0mm

Size: Pattern given fits a small animal such as a Yorkshire Terrier, Chihuahua, puppy or young cat.
Extensive directions and guidelines are provided throughout the pattern to help with adapting the size of the sweater.
