I designed this hat to make use of the many bits of beautiful fingering weight yarn that I had collected that either weren’t sufficient or weren’t sufficiently warm enough for a hat. When combined with fluffy, lace-weight mohair or alpaca, the resulting fabric was not only warm and fluffy, but the combined yarns produced a depth of colour that I hadn’t expected.
The textured pattern, achieved by knitting into stitches below, traps heat and adds a beautiful design element that makes this hat even more special.
This pattern includes two sizes, small and large, but could easily be customized.
The finished object is fully reversible, but is designed to be worn on the “wrong side”.
