This is a pattern for a light weight wrap. It’s heavier than a shawl, but just the ideal weight for a spring or fall evening, or even if you’re sensitive to air conditioning in the summer. Since it’s made using heavy weight fingering yarn or sport weight yarn,it knits up fairly quickly and would make the ideal gift, for yourself of someone that’s special to you. It is made up of two different lace stitches that are written out line by line. Neither of the stitches is difficult, and together, they make a very pretty and unusual wrap pattern. The center stitch is an old popular Shetland lace stitch, and is fairly easy. If you’ve been wanting to try your hand at a Shetland lace, this might be the pattern for you. It is suitable for Beginner + knitters.

The final size is 22 1/2 inches X 72 - 76 inches. There are instructions for an optional edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged.

Both stitches are charted out and written out.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting)

The yarn used in the Hat Box by Mrs. Crosby in colorway, French Chambray. The shawl/stole was expertly test knitted by Julie Anderson, who can be reached at: kuli.anderson@ charter.net.
