This is a pattern for a crochet beanie hat made with light worsted weight yarn and hook size G/6 (4.25mm). The specific yarn that I used is Snuggly Wuggly by Loops & Threads, 100% acrylic. Other light worsted or even worsted weight yarns can be used too, but pay attention to the gauge.

Note that this pattern is available only in one size: adult. It’s soft and stretchy.

The finished hat measures about 20 inches in circumference and 8 inches in height.

The skill level is intermediate. The hat is made from the bottom up. No, this is not the usual shells stitch. There is a little trick that involves back post double crochets to make the shells puffy and textured.
