Thames Street Mittens
Thames Street in downtown Newport, Rhode Island is home to sundry seasonal festivals and events, and it’s a favorite of summertime tourists. In the winter, though, you’ll want to tuck your fingers into some warm wooly mittens before you go exploring Thames Street’s quirky cobblestones, colorful wharves, historic inns and taverns, designer retail shops, and gourmet restaurants.
These cozy textured mittens are just the thing to show off that single skein of gorgeous variegated worsted weight wool that you just couldn’t resist at your yarn shop. The pattern motif, reminiscent of those quirky cobblestones, is created with a repeat of just one stitch that’s easy to master. Depending on your color choice, they could be a great gift for ladies or gentlemen. The mittens have a ribbed cuff and a gusset thumb, and the fingertips follow the asymmetry of your digits. They were designed to be knit on double pointed needles, but could easily be adapted for either two circulars or Magic Loop.
Pattern is written with two sizes. I am willing to work with buyers to make additional size adjustments.
