Starting May 26th, visit all the shops - online, or safely in person
Each participating shop will give you the download codes for their pattern and a sticker or stamp for your passport (purchase required for virtual “visits”)

My Grandmother, Laura May, taught me to crochet and sew. From the time I was a child making long chains, to my more advanced adult projects she delighted in my crafting. I’m missing her a lot, and I’m grateful those afternoons in her home learning my crafts.

This pattern is intended to be a lace shawl that can be made in your choice of yarn weights, fibers, and sizes. You can stitch until you run out of yarn to avoid waste -Grandma didn’t waste anything- or work until the shawl is a size you like. With its shape of just over a half circle it sits nicely on my shoulders, and the increases on the sides avoid a center spine. The three row repeat is easy to memorize once the set up rows are complete.
Choose a hook size that gives your fabric a nice drape, usually a size or two above the normal recommendation. Once you complete the set up, it is a 3 row repeat. The lace is busy, so I recommend a solid or tonal yarn.
